Sowilo rune meaning
Sowilo is the sixteenth rune of the Elder Futhark and closes Hagal's aett. It stands for the sound s. The Anglo-Saxon rune poem says the sun is always a hope for seafarers, who look for it to find their way across the sea.
Its zigzag shape recalls a ray of sunlight or a bolt of lightning: pure energy breaking through. Sowilo is the light that guides, warms and strengthens.
Sowilo upright
Sowilo announces success and energy. What you want is within reach, your efforts are rewarded and clarity replaces doubt. It's an excellent rune for health, self-esteem and big projects.
Use this momentum to move forward with confidence. Because its shape is the same upside down, Sowilo always reads as a favorable rune. Say yes to the opportunities that come your way this week.
Sowilo reversed
Sowilo has no reversed position: it looks the same right side up and upside down, so its message always reads the same way. It's one of the nine runes that can't be reversed, along with Gebo, Hagalaz, Naudhiz, Isa, Jera, Eihwaz, Ingwaz and Dagaz.
In love
In love, Sowilo announces a bright stretch: joy, passion and a relationship that helps you grow. If you're single, your confidence will make you magnetic.
The rune also reminds you that no one can be your sun if you don't shine on your own too.
Work and money
At work, Sowilo is the rune of success: recognition, goals achieved and the energy to lead. It's a good time to step forward.
Just be careful not to burn out: even the sun sets every day.
Sowilo’s advice: Trust your light and move forward decisively: today the road is lit.
