Tarot Spreads: Which One to Use
A spread is the layout of the cards: how many you pull and what each position means. Here are the seven you can do on Cartiluna, when each one helps, and what every position reads.
Pick a spread by the kind of question
- You want a decision: yes or no tarot. One card, one verdict.
- You want to check in with yourself: card of the day.
- It is about a person: love tarot.
- It is about a job: career tarot.
- You want to see the arc of a situation: three card spread.
- You want a quick picture of your whole life: love, money and health.
- The question is big and layered: Celtic Cross.
A good rule: the more cards, the more the reading is about understanding, and the fewer cards, the more it is about deciding. If you cannot put the question into one sentence, start with the three card spread; if you can, the yes or no tarot will probably do.

A few habits that make any spread read better
Ask one question at a time, and ask it before you touch the deck, not after. Read each card in its position first, then look at the whole: repeated suits, several Major Arcana, two cards that seem to contradict each other. Treat reversed cards as the same energy blocked or delayed, not as a curse. And do not repeat the same spread on the same question the same day. If the answer bothers you, that is the answer doing its job.
Every card's upright and reversed meaning, in love, career, and health, is in thetarot card meanings guide.
